Centre amends rules on appointment of Chief of Defence Staff

The ministry of defense of India on Tuesday issued a gazettee notification for the Army, Air Force and Navy. According to the notification, any retired or serving Lt Gen/Gen level officer can be appointed as the Chief of Defence Staff, a post that remains vacant since the death of General Bipin Rawat in a helicopter crash in December last year.
