Congress MLA Charanjit Singh Channi took oath as the Chief Minister of Punjab amid turmoil in Punjab Congress. He is the first Dalit Chief Minister of Punjab. He was picked for the post of CM by the central leadership of the party a day after Amarinder Singh stepped down from the post due to the differences with Navjot Singh Sidhu. Channi took oath at the Raj Bhavan. He will also meet Amarinder Singh in the afternoon.
