Cisco to pay a fine of $8.6 million to settle govt claims of selling flawed tech

Cisco Systems has agreed to pay a fine of $8.6 million to settle claims for sale of video surveillance technology that had a major security flaw to federal, state & local govt agencies. Cisco will also pay civil damages in connection with the software that it sold. 15 states joined the Justice Dept in the claim against Cisco. Govt said the video surveillance software didn't meet the primary purpose of enhancing security.
