KR Gouri Amma, one of the founding members of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), passed away in a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram. She was 102 and passed away due to age-related ailments. She served as the revenue minister in the first EMS Namboodiripad government in Kerala in the 1950s. She was credited for land reforms in the state. She played a key role in setting up the first Information Technology Park in India.
