Complaint against Rajinikanth for defaming Periyar

Dravidar Viduthalai Kazhagam (DVK) registered a complaint in Coimbatore against Rajinikanth for defaming Dravida Kazhagam founder E.V. Ramaswamy or Periyar. As per the complaint, Rajinikanth, in a recent speech during an event, said that naked pictures of Lord Rama and Sita were displayed during a rally in 1971 in Salem led by Periyar. DVK also threatened protests outside theatres showing his latest movie 'Darbar'.
