The deputy attorney general, Rod Rosenstein, who appointed Special Counsel Robert Mueller in May 2017 to probe links between the Russian government and President Trump's campaign, has submitted his resignation to the president. He will be serving till 11th May. In his letter to the White House, Rod expressed his gratefulness for granting him the opportunity to serve. Jeffrey Rosen will succeed him.
