Pakistan needs to do more to stop the violation of blasphemy laws, the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo urged on Friday. He said this after the release of Asia Bibi, who was freed from a death sentence in a case that drew international scrutiny. Stating the US' report on international religious freedom, Pompeo said more than 40 others were serving life sentences or facing the death penalty for blasphemy in Pakistan.
