India reacted sharply to a debate by UK lawmakers on the ongoing farmers' protest in India against the new farm laws. "We deeply regret that rather than a balanced debate, false assertions - without substantiation or facts - were made, casting aspersions on the largest functioning democracy in the world and its institutions," the Indian High Commission said. A 90-minute time frame was assigned by the UK parliament for the debate.
