Govt orders LPG prices to be hiked by Rs 4 per month

Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan ordered state-run oil companies to raise subsidized cooking gas (LPG) prices by Rs 4 per cylinder effective from June 2017 every month to eliminate all the subsidies by March. Earlier, Oil marketing companies (OMCs) were authorized to increase the price of subsidized domestic LPG cylinder by Rs 2 per cylinder (14.2 kg) per month with effect from July 1, 2016.
