According to a report by The Spectator, the power struggle between the Baradar faction and the Haqqani network within the Taliban has been intensified with Pakistan's ISI putting its support behind the Haqqanis. As per the report, Taliban's spiritual leader Haibatullah Akhundzada has been killed whereas deputy PM Mullah Baradar has been held hostage. Haqqani network leader Khalil-ul-Rahman Haqqani aims to keep a top position.
