Home Ministry withdraws Manmohan Singh’s SPG cover

The Home Ministry has removed the SPG security of Former PM Manmohan Singh. However, he will continue to be have the "highest category" Z-plus protection, to be provided by CRPF. The ministry says that these steps are a general process, not a political one. The Modi government at the Center is continuously reducing the number of commandos engaged in the protection of former MPs. The SPG has over 3,000 personnel.
