Hong Kong’s electoral system to undergo reforms after Chinese parliament's approval

After snatching away the autonomy of the Hong Kong, the Chinese parliament has paved way for economic reforms in the erstwhile autonomous territory. National People’s Congress Standing Committee, the top decision body in the parliament, approved a plan for reforms in the territory with a vote of 167-0. Several pro-democracy activists have been detained in the region for speaking against Chinese rule.
