'India can’t be world’s refugee capital’: Centre asks SC to extend Assam NRC list deadline

In need to tweak the process for inclusion of names in the list, The Centre asks SC to extend the 31 July deadline for the Assam list claiming that lakhs of people had been wrongly included in the final draft of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Assam. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta told the court that India can't be the world’s refugee capital of the world; Illegal immigrants have to be dealt severely.
