India responsible for 80% of slashed global growth estimate: IMF Chief economist Gita Gopinath

The IMF has slashed global growth forecast due to the economic slowdown in India and IMF's chief economist Gita Gopinath has said that India was primarily responsible for the downgrade in global growth. Gopinath said that over 80% of India's economic slowdown had impacted global forecasts. She added we see India recovering. The IMF lowered India's economic growth estimate for the current fiscal to 4.8 %.
