Indian women politicians receive rape threats and toxic abuses on Twitter

Rape threats, abuses, insinuation of sexual life and a lot of other “problematic” tweets are targeted to the Indian women politicians get posted everyday on the micro-blogging platform. Everyday, there are more than 10,000 abusive tweets target the women politicians, according to a private human rights watchdog. Being a Muslim is even more dangerous for women politicians as they also get religious slurs.
