Iraq's Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhemi slammed US fighter jets for allegedly hitting Iran-backed terrorist positions near the Syrian-Iraqi border, calling it "a clear and intolerable breach of Iraqi sovereignty and national security." At least seven fighters were killed in a nighttime raid by the US military, which the Pentagon termed as "retaliatory". US operations had targeted operational and weapons storage facilities.
