JMM-led alliance wins majority in Jharkhand assembly; Hemant Soren to claim power

Trumping the BJP, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-Congress alliance smoothly crossed the majority mark of 41 and JMM has emerged as the single largest party in the 81-seat assembly. Party leader Hemant Soren all set to stake claim to power today. Soren is ahead of his rivals in both Barhait and Dumka. He has won Barhait seat and is leading from Dumka too. Outgoing CM Raghubar Das is trailing from Jamshedpur east.
