After Joe Biden-led US government agreed to temporarily waive off intellectual property protections for vaccines and medication necessary for fighting Covid, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is now facing pressure from the MPs in his country to drop his government’s opposition to TRIPS waiver “without delay”. US agreed to the temporary waiver after a proposal from India and South Africa that was submitted in October 2020.
