LS Elections: BJP Contests for more seats than Congress, a first in Indian Politics

In Indian politics, for the very first time, BJP is contesting more seats than Congress in LS elections. For BJP, the highest list of candidates is a sign of national growth while for Congress it results in wide-alliance making. This is historic as Congress was always a national party since the pre-Independence era, while BJP drifted away from its fore-runner Bhartiya Jana Sangh & had a minimal national footprint.
