Mastercard to work with Indian government

MasterCard is partnering with Indian govt. and industry to lift low-cost payment technologies and popularize the countrys digitisation programme. “To date, there are more than 300,000 merchants who have deployed Bharat QR, the world’s 1st globally inter-operable payments solution,” said Ajay Bhalla, President of Global Enterprise Risk & Security at MasterCard. Bharat QR was launched on Feb 21 by RBI and Indian Banks Association.
