Muslims, ST, dalits made most progress, while 271 mn Indians uplifted from poverty

India has made tremendous progress to reduce its multidimensional poverty and in the last decade, 271 million Indians have been uplifted from the poverty, according to UN report. It also says that Muslims, ST and Dalits have made most progress against poverty. While ST remains the poorest group, among the religions, Muslims are the poorest. However, despite the massive improvement, 364 million Indians suffer from acute poverty.
