Nepal eyes railway deal with China

China President Xi Jinping is in Nepal on a state visit for talks with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and both are set to sign a deal to extend a railway link between the Himalayan nation and Tibet. The link is a key part of China's Belt and Road Initiative, the signature project Nepal joined in 2017. Nepal, being a natural buffer between India and China, is looking to lessen its dependence on New Delhi recently.
