The Annual Global Index on peacefulness was released on the Occasion of the International Day of Peace on Sept 21 (World Peace Day). Pakistan has slipped 2 places, finishing at 153 among 163 countries. Global peacefulness improved a little in 2019, but overall peacefulness worsened 3.78% since 2008. Iceland tops the list as the world's most peaceful place while Afghanistan replaced Syria as the most violent place.
