Philippines President invites citizens to shoot corrupt officials, promises no arrests

In what can be termed as absolutely bizarre, Philippines President Rodrigo Duterte has told the citizens of the nation to shoot, but not kill, public officials who are seen taking bribes, promising immunity from prosecution, provided the corrupt bureaucrat survives. Some 5,000 people are estimated to have been killed in the drug war, though rights groups claim the number could be more than double that.
