Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy responded to DMK parliamentarian Dayanidhi Maran, who wanted to know the details of the current protectees under the Central Reserve Police Force and the Special Protection Group in the country. Without naming PM Modi, Reddy said that SPG protects only one person. The cost of protecting the PM is Rs 1.62 crore a day or about Rs 6.75 lakh an hour.
