Another presidential candidate was jailed in Nicaragua, making it the 7th candidate held by Daniel Ortega's administration in the run-up to the November 7 elections. Noel Vidaurre was placed under house arrest on charges of "undermining the country's sovereignty," the latest in a string of arrests denounced by the US and the EU. Nicaraguan leader Ortega's administration has imprisoned 28 individuals, including potential candidates.
