Raul Castro, first secretary of Cuba's communist party, is stepping down from the top position, a move that will mark an end to almost 60 years of monopoly of the Castro family. However, the fate of Cuba is going to remain in the hands of the Communist Party that is an undeclared dictatorship. 60-year-old Miguel Diaz-Canel, Cuba's president, will succeed 89-year-old Raul Castro. Raul's brother Fidel ruled Cuba for nearly 50 years.
