RTI Activist & Peasant leader Akhil Gogoi arrested in Assam amidst violent protests over CAB

As a preventive measure, RTI activist and peasant leader Akhil Gogoi was arrested in Assam amid violent protests against the CAB across the state. Gogoi was taken into custody to avoid any untoward incident in Johar district as well as other parts of Assam by his supporters. He was trying to evade arrest and teams had to search for him for a while before taking him into custody from an advocate's residence.
