Sending me to jail amid pandemic is same as death sentence, says former South Africa president Jacob Zuma

Former South Africa President Jacob Zuma, who has been ordered to surrender to start a 15-month jail term for contempt, said he will not be surrendering. "Sending me to jail during the height of a pandemic, at my age, is the same as sentencing me to death," Zuma said while talking to the journalists at his home in Kwa-Zulu Natal province. "They cannot accept papers and expect me to go to jail," he added.
