Chinese ambassador Hou Yanqi continues to influence the members of the communist party of Nepal to avoid a split in the party so that China's encroachment plans remain unaffected. However, a split in the party seems inevitable due to the increasing oppose of PM KP Oli. PM Oli remains adamant about giving up his chair after failing to stop Chinese encroachment.
