The Supreme Court has ordered that all political parties must publish the criminal antecedents of candidates within 48 hours of their selection. The Supreme Court's February 13, 2020 ruling in this regard was modified by a bench of Justices RF Nariman and BR Gavai. Earlier, the top court had ruled that candidates must upload these details either within 48 hours of their selection or 2 weeks before the filing of nomination papers.
