Taiwan won't bow to pressure: Tsai Ing-wen sends out strong message to China at National Day rally

A day after Chinese premier Xi Jinping vowed reunification with Taiwan, Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen sent out a strong message to Beijing at the National Day Rally. The Taiwanese President said she hoped for the easing of tensions across the Taiwan Strait. "But there should be absolutely no illusions that the Taiwanese people will bow to pressure," Tsai said while adding that Taipei will continue to bolster its defense.
