Tanzania's opposition party leader arrested ahead of planned constitutional reform

Freeman Mbowe, the chief of Tanzania's main opposition party Chadema was arrested on Wednesday ahead of a planned forum to demand constitutional reform. As per the party leaders, Mbowe and 10 others were arrested late at night in Mwanza. "We condemn the repression of the rights of Tanzanians with the strongest force," the party said while making a reference to the dictatorship during the rule of President John Magufuli.
