'Twitter will have to follow the rules' says IT minister of India

On Thursday, Union electronics and information technology (IT) minister Ashwini Vaishnaw emphasised that the law of the nation is supreme and that Twitter will be required to follow new social media and intermediary standards. He remarked hours after taking over as the minister, "Whoever is a citizen of India and those who stay in India would have to comply by the rules of the nation." On May 25, the new guidelines went into force.
