UK Home office has had a low success rate for appeals against asylum seekers granted a stay with only one-third of cases being won. The advocates of the asylum seekers have called these appeals an unnecessary, expensive and traumatizing process that prevent their clients from getting on with their lives. Some cases are being appealed without legal merit which takes a year to be heard and add to the immigrants' stress.
