Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, the Union education minister of India, has been admitted to AIIMS due to post-Covid complications. He had tested positive for Covid-19 on April 21. The 61-year-old minister had mild symptoms of Covid and he was isolating at home. He recovered from the infection after following the prescriptions by doctors. It is not clear what prompted Pokhriyal's admission to AIIMS after recovery.
