US blacklists China organisations over Xinjiang 'Uighur abuse'

The US has blacklisted 28 Chinese companies for their involvement in abuses against ethnic Uighurs in China's Xinjiang. China has started a significant security operation in Xinjiang, in its far west, in recent times. Human rights groups and the UN has alleged China has detained and tortured more than a million Uighurs and some other ethnic minorities in the detention camps where they are forced to renounce Islam.
