A US military jet accidentally released a rocket near Arizona; however, the military officials said that it hit a deserted area. An A-10C Thunderbolt II aircraft flying a training mission near Tucson & Phoenix released a single M-156 rocket; a white phosphorous munition that can cause deep, penetrating burns & kills by inhalation & ingestion. Its officially used for signaling and use in civilian areas is prohibited.
