US spy agency used Danish cables to spy on Angela Merkel, other top European officials

Danish state broadcaster DR has claimed that US National Security Agency (NSA) spied on German Chancellor Angela Merkel and other top European officials, using a partnership with Denmark's foreign intelligence unit. This came to light after an internal investigation in the Danish Defence Intelligence Service from 2015 into NSA's role. As per the reports, Danish information cables were used by NSA to spy on the officials.
