China's ascent is a "historical inevitability," and it will no longer be "bullied, humiliated, or subjugated" by foreign countries, according to its leader, Xi Jinping, at a celebration of the Chinese Communist Party's 100th anniversary on Thursday. "No one should underestimate the Chinese people's enormous commitment, strong will, and exceptional capacity to preserve their national sovereignty and territorial integrity," Xi stated.
