After 1st female umpire in men’s ODI, ICC appoints 1st female referee
The International Cricket Council has for the first time appointed a female referee to the ICC International Panel of Match Referees. India’s GS Lakshmi is eligible to referee international matches with the immediate effect. Whereas a few days back, Claire Polosak was appointed as the first ever woman umpire to stand in a men’s ODI. ICC Senior Manager, Adrian Griffith, said this would help them to encourage women officials.
