Several players including Ravichandran Ashwin, Kane Richardson and Andrew Tye have withdrawn from IPL 2021 amid the coronavirus pandemic. Umpire Nitin Memon is the latest on the list to withdraw from the T-20 league. Menon has flown to his home in Indore after his mother tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Apart from his mother, Menon's wife has also tested positive for Covid and he "has a small child to look after".
