The South American Football Confederation has selected Brazil as hosts for the 2021 Copa America. The announcement came after Argentina was removed as host for the event in view of the "present circumstances". The Covid-19 crisis has affected entire South America. Conmebol took to Twitter to thank President Jair Bolsonaro for "opening the doors" of the country for "the safest sporting event in the world".
