The Chandigarh police decided not to provide security to Virat Kohli and co. over a payment issue. BCCI failed to deposit a fee of Rs. 9 crores, which led to the denial of security cover by the Chandigarh police. Both the Indian and the South African team were received and provided security by the Mohali police until they reached the Chandigarh territory. However, private security arrangements were made as an alternative.
