Football clubs spent a record $7.35 billion on transfers in the men’s game in 2019, a new FIFA report has revealed. The amount is a 5.8% increase than 2018, with English clubs having the largest total outlay at just over $1.5 billion. But it’s a drop of 22.1% on previous figures. A total of 18,042 international transfers were made which is another record. The transfers involved 15,463 players from 178 countries.
