Glenn Maxwell revealed that Zampa played a role in getting Maxwell to the RCB franchise. Maxwell said that one day before the auction, he and Zampa were together in New Zealand and the spinner gave his cap to him. The all-rounder further said that Zampa took the cap and made him wear it. Zampa also sent the photo to Kohli while also writing a short message for him. RCB bought the Aussie all-rounder for INR 14.25 crores.
