Yuvraj Singh, the former Indian cricketer, stated that he was expecting to be made the skipper of the national team for the 2007 T20 World Cup. However, the selectors went for MS Dhoni, who was only in his third year of international cricket. Nobody took the T20 World Cup seriously. I was expecting to captain India in the T20 World Cup and then it was announced MS Dhoni will be the captain, he said.
