India's men's hockey team defeated New Zealand in a nail-biting opening hockey game at Tokyo Olympics. Harmanpreet Singh remained the standout player for India as he converted two penalty corners and formed a strong defence as well, which played a key role in India's victory. New Zealand failed to convert a penalty corner, thanks to the heroics of Indian goalie PR Sreejesh whose full stretch drive denied the Kiwis the equaliser.
