India eye hosting English Premier League teams

To utilize the facilities developed for under-17 football World Cup in October, the government wants India to host matches between top Premier League clubs during their off-season. Sports secretary Injeti Srinivas recently visited the UK to explore the opportunities of bringing EPL teams to India. During their off season, the Premier League clubs frequently play matches abroad and even tour Asian countries.
