India go down fighting 1-2 in women's hockey semifinal, in contention for bronze medal

After putting up a brilliant fight, Rani Rampal and her team endured a tough 1-2 defeat against world number 3 Argentina in their semi-final match at the Tokyo Olympics. The team will now face Great Britain in the bronze medal match after the former were thrashed 5-1 in their semi-final encounter against the Netherlands. Gurjit Kaur scored the lone goal for India, while Argentine skipper Maria Noel Barrionuevo netted twice.
